Okra is a restaurant with a long standing history of 16 years in Hawthorn East. It's easy to see why they've lasted, they serve up some amazing dishes. Their flavours span across Asia highlighting in particular dishes of Thai, Malaysia and Indonesia influences. Service is always friendly and cheerful.

Some of the most tender skewers I've ever had. So easy to eat and great flavour too!

Twice Cooked Black Pepper Duck with Mushroom $28.90

The braised duck is definitely a dish worth trying. The meat is very tender and the flavours really get soaked into the duck. Loved the mushrooms too!

Lamb Shank Curry (daily special)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Wanted a curry to mix with the rice but this lamb dish may be one of the best dishes of the night! The curry sauce was thick and aromatic, perfect to mop up with the rice or roti. Lamb was super soft, fell straight from the bone.

Large juicy prawns were delicious! The sambal could've been a bit spicer, but there's always their home made chilli sauce on the tables you can add as you like.

Serving up an extensive range of Chinese/Cantonese dishes, it's a great place for bigger groups (more dishes to share). Flavours are awesome and prices are very reasonable.  Would be back for this!  Wintermelon Soup Delicious and comforting! So very generous with all the fillings and seafood pieces. Would recommend!  ★★★★☆ Roast Duck Nice crispy skin on top and decent flavour!  ★★★☆ Snow Crab (market value) MOST POPULAR ! Crab cooked with fois gras which gives it awesome flavour! Great thing about this dish is that it's a lot saucier than other versions which is great because it means the noodles get extra flavour! ★★★★ Japanese Soft Tofu HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !
